PLAYSTATION x INDIES - TWITCH PROGRAMS

Challenge

Following the success of our first Indie live streams two years ago, PlayStation France wanted to create an even bigger platform for its incredible indie games catalog with two new live Twitch formats, running throughout the year.

Idea

We came up with creative concepts for two brand new live stream formats that would help people discover (or rediscover) great indie titles, in a way that’s entertaining for the viewers but that also generates conversations between streamers and their communities. The two shows - Pitch Me an Indie and Indie Roulette - rotate every two weeks until February 2025, streamed simultaneously on the hosts’ and PlayStation FR’s Twitch channels, with new guests and games each time. We also established branding, art direction, logos and Twitch overlays for both shows to feel recognisable and independent.

For the growth of the format, it was also important for us to have a variety of streamers to work with, of different community size and genre affinity.

Pitch me an Indie PITCH ME AN INDIE LOGO We all know how excited we can get when we’ve been captivated by a game, and how much we want to tell the world about it. So in this live stream Lydia__AM, our host for the year, welcomes a streamer to talk about an indie game they adore. One after the other, they present their game of the month while the other plays it, like a friend handing you the controller to let you try it out for yourself. After the two Let’s Play sessions, the chat vote for their favourite pitch, and the two streamers then go head-to-head in a little challenge (in-game or IRL) to win extra rewards for their community.

Indie Roulette INDIE ROULETTE LOGO Every month, one talent (RomainJacques, Lydia, Mister MV or Coffee) shares a mood with the community, for example: nostalgic, chill, spooky, creative or tryhard. Every mood comes with a selection of 4 indie games that are linked to a roulette wheel. The host spins the wheel at the beginning of each stream to discover the game of the day and plays it for at least two hours. At the end of the stream, they give out a few nice rewards to the community.

Results

  • 15 streamers across the two shows (we’ve already welcomed Coffee, DamDamLive, DazJDM, Lydia__AM, MisterMV, Mynthos, Titavion, RomainJacques, Ultia, with more to come!)
  • 15 indie games presented so far (A Short Hike, Harold Halibut, Pacific Drive, Tchia, Viewfinder, to name a few)
  • A total of 700+ av. viewers in the first 5 months
  • 1M+ impressions on X and YouTube
